From Bright to Barunga, Captain Sanitiser is riding across Australia for the future of First Nations Leadership.
Captain Sanitiser and his Crew of three riders will be traversing across Australia in a massive fundraising motorbike tour from Bright, Victoria to Barunga in the Northern Territory (that’s over 5500km!)
The Captain’s Ride has a strong message driven by the leaders of Thamrrurr Youth. They are empowering and encouraging young adults to take control of their health, life and future. As the Captain and his crew ride from Bright to Barunga they will talk about this message of self-determination.
As part of TYIC’s goal of developing strong young leaders who can walk confidently in two worlds, the Team will run the Bright Program which delivers training and education programs aiming to teach Young First Nations People workplace readiness, sustainability, hospitality and life skills.
The Bright Program is important to the Community of Wadeye in the Northern Territory. It is something that its Young People are proud to be apart of. However, the financial reality of running an interstate exchange is an enormous challenge. TYIC needs to raise $250000 in 2021 and The Captain’s Ride will help us reach this goal.
We hope to raise $150000 by riding over 5500km. All the funds that are raised will help allow TYIC to continue to run the Bright Program in 2022.
Good luck to all!
